Jeffrey J. Bollinger, a Realtor and property manager, died Sunday of complications from kidney failure.

He was 45.

He was active in real estate transactions and in property management in the Santa Rosa, San Mateo, Modesto and Stockton areas.

He was born in Baker, Ore., and his family moved to Santa Rosa in 1967. He graduated from Montgomery High School and attended Santa Rosa Junior College. He was an active member of Kiwanis, volunteering time to build homes for Habitat for Humanity as well as other special projects in the community.

His family said he was talented with tools, enjoying woodworking projects such as decks and wall cabinetry for his family and friends. ``He was so creative with wood, and he leaves his creations all around us,'' said his father, Lee Bollinger, retired director of classified advertising at The Press Democrat. ``We can look at the cedar chest he built for us, we can see the cornices that he built inside our house and we know he did that with his hands.''

He is survived by his son, Tyler Bollinger of Lodi; his parents, Lee and Patricia Bollinger of Santa Rosa; brothers Brad Bollinger of Santa Rosa, who is editor of the North Bay Business Journal, and Lee C. Bollinger of New York, who is president of Columbia University; his identical twin brother, Jayme Bollinger of Santa Rosa, a district manager in The Press Democrat's circulation department; and his sister, Tamara Bollinger-Edwards of Santa Rosa, who works in the newspaper's retail advertising department.

He was preceded in death by his brother Mark S. Bollinger, who died in 2001.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to Sonoma County Kidney Crisis Foundation, P.O. Box 9002, Santa Rosa 95404.
