∼Robert Bob Mowers, age 78 of Murphy, NC passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Murphy Medical Center in Murphy, NC.
He was a native of Fulton County, NY and was the son of the late Bertrum and Dorothy Grant Mowers. Bob was a US Air Force veteran. He retired as Assistant Police Chief of Hollywood, FL in 1981, was a member of the Hollywood Police Alumni Association, National Rifle Association and Cherokee Crime Commission. Bob was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed fishing. He moved to Murphy 13 years ago.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Mowers.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, June; one son, Glen Mowers and his wife, Karen of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Kelly Long and her husband, Jeff of Davie, FL and five grandchildren, Kristen, Robbie, Shayne, Dylan and Jake.
