George James Dinwiddie, 93, of the Indiana Veterans Home, died there at 2:50 PM Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001; he had been ill the past five years. He was born in Pine Village Jan. 17, 1908, and had lived at the Veterans Home for the past five years. He had previously lived at Elston.

His first wife, Goldie Lee, died in 1968. He married his second wife, Elizabeth G. Pry, on Sept. 6, 1969, in Lafayette; she died Dec. 22, 1986.

Mr. Dinwiddie was a graduate of Pine Village High School. He worked in the maintenance department at Fairfield, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1154 and American Legion Post 11. He was a veteran, having served as an Army PFC, with the military police during World War II.

Surviving is his sister, Amanda Greenburg, also of the Indiana Veterans Home. Service at the Indiana Veterans Home Oct. 22, Pastor Gary Studebaker officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
