Mrs. Margie Olivia Mason age 77 of McMinnville, TN, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN. She was born May 24, 1936, in Smithville, TN, was a member of the Baptist faith, worked as a cosmetologist for many years and was a former employee of City Drug Store and McDonalds. Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her parents Verby S. and Beatrice Ellen Fisher Jones, sons Glen Thompson, Stanley Carl Honaker, and William Verby Thompson, her sisters Georgia Farley, Patricia Owenby, and Verbolynn Maxson, and brothers Carl A. Jones, Clayton A. Jones, Jerry Sterling Jones, and Joe Alfred Jones.


Survivors include her husband Morris R. Mason, McMinnville, TN, step-children Sheila Lewis, Phillip, Terry, and Michael Mason, grandchildren Jennifer Taylor, Jimmy Thompson, Stacie Johnson, and Denver Honaker, her sisters F. Oleda Crain, Delaware, Billie J. (Ralph) Shoemaker, Michigan, daughter-in-law Donna Thompson, North Carolina, and special friends Kim Carlee and Mickie Whiteaker. Several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.


Funeral service will be 3 P.M. Friday, July 26, 2013, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jim Zlaten will officiate. Interment will follow at Jefferson Cemetery in DeKalb County, TN. The Mason Family will receive friends Thursday from 4 P.M. until 9 P.M. and again Friday from 11 A.M. until 3 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.


Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson Cemetery.
