John F. Eichmann, 83, of 91 Bellaire Lane, died Friday at 9: 45 p.m. at his home. He had been in failing health for several years, and he died following a heart attack.

He was born in Neenah July 21, 1874, and had resided in Oshkosh for the past 56 years. He was married to Miss Ida Klaska on Dec. 24, 1902, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1952.

Mr. Eichmann had been employed as a switchman by Chicago & Northwestern Railroad for 37 years before his retirement March 6, 1946.. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

Surviving are his wife, Ida; two daughters, Miss Marie Eichmann, Oshkosh, and Mrs. Albert I. Collins, in Canada; eight sons, John H., Edward, Harry, Burton, Gordon, Robert, Clifford and Richard Eichmann, all of Oshkosh; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceding him In death were one son, Walter in 1924, and one daughter, Mrs. Robert Davidson, In 1937.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home, with the Rev. T, J. Mittelstaedt, pastor of lmmanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be In Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. on Monday until the hour of services.
