Amanda Irene Ware, 91, passed away May 21, 2014 in a Athens, Alabama nursing home. She was born August 21, 1922 in Lipan the daughter of Joseph Samuel and Minerva Estella Light Burns. She married Emmett Lee Ware in San Antonio and he preceded her in death in 1967. She had lived in Athens, Alabama since 1995 and in Mineral Wells prior to that. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ. She worked for Southwestern Bell for 35 years until retiring in 1984. She worked in the gift shop at Palo Pinto General Hospital. Services will be 3PM Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-3 PM Saturday before the service. She is survived by her daughter: Kathy Ware of Athens Alabama, grandchildren: Paige Crouch of Athens, Alabama, Rickiey McNiel of Hawkins, Texas, Tracy Pettie of Athens, Alabama, Eric McNiel of Decatur, Texas, and Chance McNiel of Van, Texas, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter: Michael Joe McNiel, 5 sisters, and 1 brother.
