Coroner Dankowski was called to Bryan last Sunday afternoon, to hold an inquest over the remains of Alfred J. Laur, which were found in the river near that place on Sunday morning. Mr. Laur was formerly a resident of Valverde, Colorado, and with his wife and child, and the family of his wife's parents, was on his way overland to Oregon. On Sunday, the 7th, the party was camped near Marsten, and several of the men went swimming in the river. The cold water gave Mr. Laur cramps and before help could reach him he was borne away by the swift current, and not until one week later was his body recovered. Interment took place at Bryan on Tuesday morning.
