Austin--Mark Guy Foley, age 85, of Austin, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at his home.
Mark was born May 31, 1920, in Madison, S.D., to Guy and Cleo (Davis) Foley. He served with the United States Army Air Corps from Jan. 12, 1942, to June 11, 1945, as a staff sergeant with the 4128th Ordinance and Maintenance Company in Hawaii. He earned the Asiatic Pacific Theater medal and the Good Conduct medal.
On Nov. 8, 1947, he was united in marriage to Corrine Johnson at Resurrection Church in Minneapolis, Minn.
Mark was retired from advertising sales. Different organizations he was involved in were Mower County Catholic Parishes Credit Union, Austin Ambassadors, Knights of Columbus Degree Team, Eagles, VFW, American Legion, and St. Augustine Catholic Church as an usher, lector and lay minister.
Survivors include his wife, Corrine Foley, of Austin, Minn.; children: Rita Bergene, of Aurora, Ill.; Kathy (Roger) Keller, of Apple Valley, Minn.; Mike Foley, of Rochester, Minn.; Pat (Gary) Gardner, of Burnsville, Minn.; Terry (Marty) Tikovitsch, of Chicago, Ill.; Dean (Adriana) Foley, of Wahpeton, N.D.; Jeff Foley (Chris Martinez), of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers: Leo (Marge) Foley, of Edina, Minn.; Wayne (Joan) Foley, of Carlsbad, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Cleo Foley; sister, Margaret Thull; brothers: Roy and Harold Foley; children, Mary Jo and Timothy.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church and also at a luncheon immediately following the service. Military rites will be by American Legion Post #91.
