Our darling Lee Roy, son of Bro. and Sister Orville and Ruth (Fricke) Friesen, was born on May 23, 1954 at the McPherson County Hospital, and passed away Dec. 10, 1954, at our temporary home at Barren, Wis. at the age of 6 months, and 16 days.
Little Lee Roy's arrival brought much joy in our family circle. He was a healthy and robust child. Little did we realize that his day would be so short. Those gentle little hands and his loving smiles shall long be remembered. Thursday he received an immunization injection. Thursday night he could not rest as peaceful as usual. At 3:30 A.M. Lee Roy needed attention and mother took him and gently rocked him to sleep. Not realizing that it was for the last time. At 6:30 we went to his bed side, only to learn that he had quietly fallen asleep in Jesus. We keenly feel our loss yet we feel the Lord has taken him from this world of suffering to his heavenly home, where he is forever at rest.
He leaves to mourn his early departure, his grieving parents, one brother and one sister, Orley 3, and Jeanette 2; 10 uncles and 10 aunts; Grandparents, P. E. Friesen and grandmother Mrs. Sam Fricke.

Lee Roy now is sweetly resting, safely in the arms of Jesus,
In those heavenly mansions yonder, where we long to meet again,
In our hearts his memory lingers, we know 'tis vain to weep,
Tears of love can never wake him from quiet peaceful sleep.

Funeral services were held on Dec. 13, at 2 P.M. in the Zion Church, with Min. A. R. Toews reading Psa. 39:4-5 and led in prayer, after which Min. John Ensz spoke from Job 14:1-2; John 14:1-3, after which the little casket was carried to the nearby cemetery for burial.
