Ann Marie Thurston Johnston passed from this life, Friday, August 18, 2006, after a courageous struggle with cancer.

Born June 26, 1943, in Casper, Wyoming, to LeRue and Idell Thurston, she lived most of her youth in Provo, Utah. She grew up in a close-knit family with brothers, David and Doug; and sister, Kathy. Ann was always friendly, social, and loved by all. She eventually met and married H. Dee Johnston, her loving eternal partner. They married in the Salt Lake City Mormon Temple on September 10, 1963.
Ann and Dee went to college at Brigham Young University, where Ann graduated with a degree in English in 1968, and then both moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where they have since resided. Ann and Dee have four children: Matt, Jennifer, Kelly, and Jason, all of which remember a mother with great love that enjoyed family fun, wherever it could be found. She often took trips to lakes, mountains, and beaches just to bring the family closer together.
Ann Johnston lived a life of service to church and neighbors, as well as being active in school programs for the arts and great books, and serving in Birthright for many years. She lived a live of love for family and friends, and a life of giving to everyone she met.

Surviving are her husband, H. Dee Johnston, of Bartlesville; son, Matt, with wife, Carrie, and grandchildren: Jacob, Drew, Noah, Isaac, and Olivia; daughter, Jen, with husband, Alex, and grand-daughter, Alexia; daughter, Kelly, with husband, Bryan, and grandchildren: Treston, Cole, and Gabrielle; son, Jason, with wife, Katie, and grandsons, David and Nathan. Her daughters, Roxanne and Suzanne, died as infants. Ann also has her siblings, David and Kathryn, and extended family in many directions, except her brother, Doug, who preceded her in death.

Services will be held Friday, August 25, 2006, at 10 a.m., at the Aspen Third Ward Chapel, 1546 North 1100 West, Orem Utah. Friends may call Thursday, August 24, from 6-8 p.m., at Berg Mortuary, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
