He worked for Paramount Laundry in Fort Pierce, then for the St. Lucie County School Board for 12 years at Lawnwood Stadium and ball fields.
He served in the Navy and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Fort Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Horton and granddaughter, Debbie Horton.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Helen Horton of Fort Pierce; son, Larry Horton of Port St. Lucie; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Feb. 15 at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Park.
