John L. Horton, 89, died Feb. 11, 2007 in Fort Pierce. He was born in Wray, GA and moved to Fort Pierce in 1932, coming from Blackshear, GA.
He worked for Paramount Laundry in Fort Pierce, then for the St. Lucie County School Board for 12 years at Lawnwood Stadium and ball fields.
He served in the Navy and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Fort Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Horton and granddaughter, Debbie Horton.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Helen Horton of Fort Pierce; son, Larry Horton of Port St. Lucie; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
