Ed was talented with carpentry and metal skills. His hobbies included designing and making large and small lawn ornaments, welding and making toy tractors and farm machinery that family and others are enjoying. He was proud of his garden and shared extra vegetables with others. He enjoyed fishing with his family. Those close to him will remember his way of helping others before himself and discussing family and area events from years ago.
Survivors include his daughter: Janelle, sons: Michael, Mark, Matthew (Karla); step-children: Tina (Glenn) Anderson, Mark (Sue) Meidinger; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one great step-grandchild, many relatives and friends. His parents and brother, Francis, Sylvia Volesky and Caroline VanRaden preceded him in death.
