Mrs. Annie Herndon Johnson, of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Springfield, died Saturday in Los Angeles. She was 78 years old. She had been in failing health a year.
Mrs. Johnson was born in 1876 and her grandfather, William H. Herndon, was a law partner of Abraham Lincoln in Springfield.
She is survived by one brother, Grover C. Herndon, of Stockton, Calif.; a niece, Mrs. Charles E. Miller; and two nephews, William H. Herndon and Jesse Leigh Herndon, both of Springfield; and one aunt, Mrs. Millie Ralston, also of Springfield.
Remains will arrive in Springfield this evening and will be received by O'Donnell funeral home.
Graveside services conducted tomorrow at Oak Ridge cemetery.
