Cause of Death: Pancreatic Cancer

Richard Scott Lembke, age 52 of Corona, California, ended his year and a half long fight against pancreatic cancer, while at home, when he passed from this life to return to his Heavenly Father in the arms of his loving wife, early Wednesday morning, August 19, 2015.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Della Papritz Lembke, and two young children at home, Kiralyn age 7 and Andrew age 4; as well as Anthony Vernon Lembke and Maria Elena Vaal Escobar (Marco), Lupita Vaal; and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Vernes "Sandy" Bostic, and siblings: Craig Lembke, Ken Lembke, Heidi Kneip, Penny Schroeder, Bill Lembke, Mike Bostic, Chris Bostic, and many nieces and nephews. His father, Richard William Lembke preceded him in death.

Rick had a life of service in his church, in scouting and in his work as an elementary and middle school teacher. At 19 he served as a missionary for a year and a half for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Santiago, Chile. He loved working with the youth of the Church for most of his life. He loved the many hikes, campouts and high adventure outings with the boy scouts. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton and his Masters of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Cal State San Bernardino. He was an educator for 18 years. He loved his students as he taught 3rd grade and lastly 6th grade at Wells Middle School in Riverside. His favorite part of teaching was reading stories to his students with different voices for each character. He enjoyed golfing, tennis, backpacking, reading books (especially fantasy series) and motorcycle riding. Most of all he loved his family, and playing, traveling, camping, RVing or watching old TV shows with them.
