Ruth H. Berry, 89 of Waterloo, died at the UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital, Waterloo on Friday, October 2, 2020.

She was born April 3, 1931 in Floyd, IA, daughter of Christ and Katherine (Lohrman) Thomas. Ruth graduated from West High School in 1949.

She married Alwin L. Berry on May 18, 1957 in Omaha, Neb. He died December 7, 2016.

She worked at the Sveden House, then when it, became Heidemann House, and later, Carpenter’s Restaurant on Kimball Ave.

Ruth enjoyed cooking meals for her family, reading mystery books, solving puzzles and playing solitaire.

Ruth is survived by her daughter: Linda (Patrick) Barnett‚ of Waterloo‚ IA, Three sons, David, Richard (Sherry Kennedy) of Waterloo; Ronald (Bonnie) Berry of Tripoli. Three grandchildren: Joseph (Jamie) Barnett, Jenny Barnett, and Elizabeth Berry. Four Step grandchildren: Kristen (Mark) Manson, Faith (Grant) Miller, Heather Cummings and Shawna Cummings. Four great-grandchildren: Caiden, Ryley, Sydney, and Ella.

Eleven Step great-grandchildren: Emmilyn, Maisyn, Abel, Eve, Parker, Joslynn, Shania, Karma, Trae, Tiara, and Tionie

She is preceded in death by her husband; Sisters: Agnes Carlson and Florence Potter. Brothers: Frank, George, William, Christ, Albert, Robert and Melvin Thomas.

Services:
Family Graveside Services will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
