Mrs. Maggie Stewart, 77, of Starke, died Monday afternoon in Bradford County Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Baker County on January 19, 1894, and had lived in Bradford County for the past 38 years.
Surviving are five sons, Arthur M. Stewart, Auburndale; Joseph W., Johnnie C., Floyd J., and Carl W. Stewart, all of Starke; one daughter, Mrs. Corine Nettles, Hawthorne; one brother, Wiley Godwin, Olustee; one sister, Mrs. Evie Alford, Olustee; 17 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 PM Wednesday at the New Congregational Methodist Church near Starke, with Rev. Maxie Wilkinson officiating. Interment was in South Prong Cemetery under direction of DeWitt C. Jones Funeral Home.
