Robert "Doc" Norris Gardner, age 73, of New Castle, DE, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013. Doc was a graduate of the class of '59 at Salem High School. He proudly served in the US Army from 1963-65. Doc was a craftsman who always had a project going. Some of those projects included painting lighthouses on slate and carving custom canes out of driftwood. He was a truck driver for over 20 years and won awards for being a safe driver. Doc was a member of the Men's Auxiliary at the VFW Post 253 in Salem NJ and enjoyed his weekly Tuesday beer there with his buddies. He also enjoyed going to Cowtown. Doc was an awesome Pop-Pop.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Dawn Cleveland; son Robert Gardner (Amanda); 4 grandchildren: Ashton, Felicity, Gabriel, and Dorian; and brother, Franklin "Skip" Hendricks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Bessie Hendricks.
