Obituary: Guy E. McCormick, 83, died Monday in a local hospital from a lingering illness. Services will be Wednesday in the Andrews Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. C. Willis Schnelle officiating. Interment is at the Fremont Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute to the cancer fund. A resident of Canon City for the past 17 years and a farmer by occupation, Mr. McCormick and his wife, who survives, resided at 352 Orchard. He was a member of the Canon City Christian Church. Born Nov 11, 1884 in Zeandale, Kan., the son of Cavit H. McCormick and Julia Ann Wagoner, Mr. McCormick married Esta M. Stewart Nov. 14, 1933 in Indiana. Surviving are one son, Keith McCormick, Wichita Kan.; daughter, Mrs. Howard Otterson Pollosk, Pine, Calif., five stepsons, Irving Stewart, Kuna, Idaho; Harold Stewart, Manhattan, Kan.; Raymond Stewart, Eugene, Ore.; Donald L. Stewart, Canon City; and Wayne Stewart, Abilene, Kan. Also two brothers. Leo McCormick and Claud McCormick, both of Canon City; four sisters, Doris Lanham, Littleton; Mable and Fern McCormick and Maxine Conrad, all of Kansas; and 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
