Laura Lou Conner was born Dec. 14, 1932, in Paducah, Texas, to Charlie Ruben and Leona Clementine (Blevins)Conner. She graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1949 and went on to earn her LVN degree from Cisco Junior College in 1966. Laura married James Robert Hadley on July 28, 1949 in Graham, Texas. They had two children and resided in Antelope.
Laura was divorced and remarried to Dolphus Bryson "Pat" Patterson in 1969. They set up residence in Shackelford County with their children. Laura was a supporter of the Old Jail Art Center, as well as a member of the Albany Church of Christ. She also enjoyed Country and Western Music.
In 2004, Laura moved to Post Oak to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband "Pat", and two brothers, Charles H. Conner and Issac Conner.
Laura is survived by one daughter, Nesha Lynn Smith and husband Dean of Jacksboro; one son, Garland Hadley of Midland;two step-sons, Steve Patterson of Arlington and Jim Patterson of Electra; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
