Former Commissioner Laid to Rest in Oak Hill Cemetery
Funeral services for John Watkinson Douglass, a former Commissioner of the District of Columbia and of the Internal Revenue who died at Kent, Connecticut last Saturday were held yesterday morning at 11 o'clock in this city. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. James McClure Henry, pastor of Peck Memorial Chapel. Interment was in Oak Hill. Commissioner Henry L. West yesterday issued a statement in behalf of the Commissioners of the District in which he eulogized former Commissioner Douglass speaking of him as having displayed a high order of administrative ability and as one who had done much for the citizens of the District and for the public service.
