Served in American Revolutionary War Continental Army, Private, mustered in: 6 August 1776 - 1783, Northampton, Pennsylvania Militia, 4th Battalion, 2nd Company, 7th class; under Captain Christopher Johnson. Took part in the battle of Long Island and was with George Washington Forces when they crossed the Delaware River.


Also served in the War of 1812, Army, Sergeant, 2nd Brigade, 2nd Division, Pennsylvania Militia under Captain Abraham Schaffer. Served from 1812-1815
