Florence Evelyn Orten Smith, 87, a former resident of Scott City and Dighton, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at the Long Term Care Facility in Quinter.
She was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Grainfield, to George R. and Eva Alice Weekly Orten.
On Nov. 22, 1941, she married Roderick "Rod" Smith in Shields. He died April 30, 1984. She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister, Vera Roberts.
Mrs. Smith had worked at various businesses, including Brookover Cattle Company Inc., from which she retired in 1990 after 20 years as office manager.
Survivors include a brother, William L. Orten of Quinter.
Following cremation, graveside services and burial was at Healy Cemetery in Healy.
