Luella Nichols was born at Colesburg, Iowa, on January 5, 1864, and passed away at her home in Fairmont, Nebraska, May 23, 1938, at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 18 days.

As her parents passed away when she was but a small child, she made her home with a sister, Mrs. Herbert Dunsmoore, near Strawberry Point, Iowa. It was here that she first met John H. Moyle and on February 17, 1888, they were united in marriage at Manchester, Iowa. Only last February 17, they had celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

The first years of their married life were spent on a farm near LeMars, Iowa. In 1894 they went to Tripp, S.D., where they endured the hardships of the pioneer farm life for twelve years. From there they moved to Eustis, Nebraska, to farm and finally purchased a farm home. They lived there between ten and eleven years and then moved back again to Iowa, locating at Lamont. This was their residence for only three years and in February , 1919, they came to Fairmont, Nebraska, which has since been their home.

Seven children were born to bless their union, all of whom survive, save one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Lehmann, who died June 7, 1929. They are Mrs. Mabel Franklin, Buffalo, N.Y.; Mrs. Blanche Svenson, Elwood, Nebr.; Mrs. Hazel Uhlig, Cozad, Nebr.; Mrs. Gladys Imming, Marysville, Kan., and Ralph E. and Chester A. Moyle of Fairmont, Nebraska.

Mrs. Moyle united with the Evangelical church while living near Eustis, Nebraska. Her chief pleasure was her home. She loved to make it more attractive with flowers and plants and much of her time was spent in this, beautifying the home. But she, herself, was the greatest attraction as her husband's constant companion and as an ideal mother.

One great desire of her life was that she should never prove a burden to her loved ones. So, even though she was sometimes in real physical discomfort, she ever maintained a courageous and cheerful attitude.

In addition to the husband and children, there are ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild who survive her passing. They, together with her many friends were saddened and shocked by her sudden death. But the memory of a life well lived fortifies their faith in their hour of sorrow.

Funeral services were held from the Fairmont Methodist church this afternoon, with the pastor, Rev. Robert L. Embree, officiating. Interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery. All of the children arrived in time to attend the funeral.
