Ada Katherine Davis was the daughter of John Thomas Davis (1879-1942) and his wife Jeanetta ("Nettie") Alice Morton Davis (1881- ) of Cabin Creek, Kanawha Co., WV. Around 1926 she married James Raymond Gatens (1887-1946). The couple lived in Cabin Creek where James worked for the C&O Railroad. They had two sons: James Patrick Gatens (1930-1967) and Donald William Gatens (1932-2010).

James died in 1946 and some years later Ada married Stanard Buffington McCullough (1880-1964) of Huntington, Cabell Co., WV.

MRS. ADA GATENS McCULLOUGH, 74, of 1329 Madison Ave., Huntington, widow of Stanard B. McCullough, died yesterday in Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was a retired cook. Surviving is one son, Donald W. Gatens of Huntington. Funeral 2 p.m. tomorrow at Reger Funeral Home; burial at Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
