LaVerne N. Hoch, 82, of Catasauqua, died Saturday December 18th, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg in Bethlehem comforted by her family. She was the wife of the late Charles S. Hoch. Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Samuel C. and Bessie Mae (Kirsch) Deily.

LaVerne was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Catasauqua. She worked for many years as a cafeteria worker at Sheckler Elementary School in Catasauqua. Prior to that she worked for Allentown Portland Cement Company and the former Smith Candy Co. Most of all she enjoyed the holiday baking she did for the Village Bake Shop in Allentown.

Surviving are her son Gregory C. Hoch of Catasauqua; sister Millie and her husband Charles W. Parker of Whitehall; step-brother Doug Deily. She was predeceased by her brothers Philip C. Deily and James A. Deily and step brother Glenn Deily.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, Catasauqua, 18032, with the Rev. Gary L. Walbert officiating. Call from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in her name payable to the Visiting Nurses of the Lehigh Valley, care of the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua, Pa. 18032.
