Funeral services for Laverne Emma Fuchshuber, Vinita, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Burckhalter Memorial Chapel.

Rev. John Polk of Chelsea officiated.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.

Mrs. Fuchshuber, 80, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, following a sudden illness.

Born Nov. 11, 1921, in Garland, NE, she was the daughter of Carl and Marie (Borgmann) Mathes. [sic]

A homemaker, she was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chelsea. She was united in marriage to Royston Fuchschuber on July 4, 1949, at Seward, NE. They moved to a farm north of Vinita in 1982.

Survivors include her husband, Royston, of the home; son, Jan Fuchshuber of Vinita; brother, Harold Matthes and wife Carol of Lincoln, NE; two sisters-in-law, Marcella Matthes of Lincoln, NE and Isabel Hauck of Dallas.
