CHINA GROVE -- Bonnie Stirewalt Kramer, 74, of Elizabeth Street China Grove passed away Tuesday September 13, 2011 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 15, 1937 in Rowan County and was the daughter of the late Flex C. Stirewalt and Wilma Miller Stirewalt.
She graduated from China Grove High School in 1937 and was also Miss China Grove in 1955. Bonnie was an active and life long member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, church treasurer and member of The Happy Senior Citizens Club, Sunday school and was also over the Bereavement Committee. She was was involved in a tutoring program and member of the AT&T Pioneers Retirement Group of Charlotte. A supervisor for Bell South and a member and treasurer of the South Rowan Historic Society and a recipient of the Ira Baker Service Award.
She was preceded in death by a sister Nancy Stirewalt.
Survived by a brother Ferrell Reid Stirewalt and sister in law Dottie Stirewalt of Columbia, S.C. , a niece Deneen Shockley of Lexington, SC, and a nephew Darrell Stirewalt of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with the service on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Marks Lutheran Church. The Rev. Gregg Yeager will be officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice. Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove is serving the Kramer family.
