Having moved back to Athens Ohio in the 1890's he met and married Jennie Mae Haning where they married at the Athens County courthouse on Feb. 3, 1896. In September of that year their first child was born, Edith Ione. At some point they moved to Chillicothe, possibly for Andy's job as a railroadman with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. On Feb. 1, 1907, they welcomed their second and last child, a daughter, Vivian Irene. Within a few years, due to a job change and purportedly to get Edith away from some unsavory boys/situations, Andrew packed the family up and moved to Parkersburg West Virginia. There, Andy, who was colorblind, was taught by his wife Jennie, with swatches of material, how to recognize colors so that he could become a conductor on the trains. He passed and was in that position for the rest of his life.
