PLYMOUTH - Thomas J. Roberts, 82, died in the home of his daughter, Miss Gail Roberts, on Pearl street, at 5 p.m. Sunday after an illness of four days. He was born in Marshall county Jan 31, 1856 and was a farmer almost all his life. He had lived in Plymouth for seven years. Besides his daughter he is survived by one son, Chester Roberts, Gary, Ind. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Danielson funeral chapel with burial in Ewald cemetery. (South Bend Tribune, Mar 8, 1938, section 2, page 3)
