Margaret L. Shelby, 82, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 7:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Golden Living- Fountainview Terrace.

She was born November 7, 1929 in La Porte, IN to Wayne Eugene and Ellen (Pointon) Bealor.
Mrs. Shelby graduated from Kingsbury High School and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, La Porte.
Surviving are three children, Frederick (Diana) Sullivan of La Porte, Nancy (Ed) Kowalski of Joliet, IL and Paul Shelby of La Porte; eight grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Bealor of Brownsville, TX and Dennis (Helen) Bealor of Mt. Juliet, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harry F. Sullivan; her second husband, Wilbur James "Doc" Shelby; three brothers, Tommy, Lester Wayne and Phillip Bealor.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Road, La Porte (219) 362-3100 with Pastor Ronald Brauer officiating. A visitation and viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following services and burial of ashes will be held at a later date in Pine Lake Cemetery.
