Arnold was a pioneer Sect. 7, Romeo, McComb County, MI. He may have had other children?? for these males is buried same cemetery as he and his wife, and they don't seem to fit into Samuel B's family and were not given as his children, viz: Austin R. Spencer 1840-1863? He enlisted from Lapeer Co., 6 Aug1861 in Co. G, 7th MI Infantry for 3 years, age 21. Killed at Gettysburg, PA, 2 Jul 1863. Also William A. Spencer1845-1846--they could have been the children of Timothy above. Also James H. Spencer, from Lapeer Co., MI enlisted in Co G, 7thMI Infantry, for 3 years ae. 19. He was discharged for disability at Detroit, MI, 22 Jul 1862 The Otsego County, NY Land Records, G-364, 4 Dec 1804 be Joel Moffatt and Tamesen, his wife of county of Montgomery and Arnold Spencer of County of Middlesex, CT, land on west side of Lake Otsego, 48 acres, 1 rod& 24 perches. Rec'd 8 Jan 1806. In 1804, Arnold purchased 48acres, 1 rod & 24 perches of land in Otsego County, NY near Springfield. Record # B364 on the west side of Lake Otsego, Otsego County. His brother, Austin was a witness at the purchase of this land. It is likely Arnold was married between1804-1806 shortly after the purchase of this land. The 1810census records Arnold on line 218-2 with his wife and one female (16-25 (daughter). Timothy and his family were living adjacent Arnold and his family. Arnold sold his land on May 6 1815probably after his father died and moved his family and his mother to western NY (Ogden) where his two brothers (Daniel &Austin) were located. He settled in Genesee Count, later Monroe Co. and had land in the Triangle Tract (60 acres--L5S7T5). We can locate Arnold with his family in both the 1820 and 1830census in western NY. By 1840 Arnold had moved his family on to Michigan. In 1835 he purchased 40 acres of Section 5, 4 northtwp., 12 east range and another 40 acres in 1837 located in Section 5, 4 north twp., 12 east range all located in Macomb County, Washington Twp., MI. Arnold lived on his land until his death in 1840. By using census records for 1810, 1820, 1830, and 1840 we can construct the family of Arnold and Livonia. In1810 there was a daughter b. 1804-1806 (Catherine) and a son b.1807 (Samuel B.) By 1820 Arnold has three more sons, b. 1811, 1813, 1817 and two daughter, b. 1810, b. 1814. In 1830 there appear two more sons b. 1823 and 1824 and finally in the 1840census there is one more daughter for a total of ten children. Two of these sons died before his will was probated as they did not share in the land dispersement in 1852. His daughter, Catherine was the only child mentioned in his will as having been previously provided for. The will was entered for probate by Samuel in 1841, but the state of MI did not close the probate until 1941. Upon Lovina's death in 1852 a series of quit claim deeds were entered for a division of Arnold's land to his remaining children. He settled in Genesee County, later Monroe County, and had land in the Triangle (60 acres-L5S7%5. Arnold and his family were in the 1820 and 1830 census in western NY. By 1820, Arnold has three more sons, b. 1811, 1813, 1817 and two daughters, b. 1810, b. 1814.
