Bio
JERRY POSING AT THE ELLIFF FAMILY PLOT IN MCDONALD COUNTY, MISSOURI.
I always knew that I would do some kind of volunteer work upon retiring. I came upon Find A Grave while researching our (wife and I) ancestry. I have never enjoyed photography, but I truly enjoy claiming, locating, taking pictures, and posting the marker/headstone for the requestors. My biggest disappointment is finding that a gravesite does not have a marker or headstone.
I do volunteer photos, but I also enjoy taking photos of markers for the veterans interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona and posting them to the memorial that was established by another volunteer.
I served 20 years in the United States Air Force retiring as an E7 (Master Sergeant) 1961-1981.
After retiring from the AF I was employed by the Drug Enforcement Administration as a Federal Investigator and accountant.
NOTE: When I post a picture of a marker that I have taken at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, I also post a generic picture of one of the sections at the cemetery. The generic picture does not necessarily represent the Section or Site number of your loved one.
COINS ON A GRAVESTONE:
1. LEAVING A PENNY MEANS YOU VISITED THE GRAVE.
2. LEAVING A NICKEL MEANS YOU WENT TO BASIC TRAINING TOGETHER.
3. LEAVING A DIME MEANS THAT YOU SERVED TOGETHER.
4. LEAVING A QUARTER MEANS THAT YOU WERE THERE WHEN HE/SHE WAS KILLED.
