Bio

I was born in Decatur, NY on August 31, 1932, a day of total eclipse of the sun. I am the son of Lloyd Quincy and Florence Susan Kenyon Van Voorhis, both deceased, and the brother of Edgar Grant Van Voorhis, Arnold David Van Voorhis, and Mary Van Voorhis Smartt, all deceased. My deceased wife, Mildred Lipe Van Voorhis, who died February 10, 2010, is also buried at Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester, NY.

I graduated from Houghton College, NY in 1954 (BA); from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, GA (JD) in 1958; and received a Masters in Ministry degree from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Greenville, SC, in 1993. My major employment was as Federal Administrative Law Judge with the Social Security Administration from 1970-1998, when I finally retired.
