It is uncertain what Tamer's family name was; some descendants claim it to be McGrew but proof is lacking. She was born in PA--probably Bucks Co. She married Nehemiah Smith, son of Quakers Thomas Smith (FAG #129889932) and Sarah Cowgill of Plumstead, Bucks Co., PA. Tamer may not have been a Quaker as the family did not continue in the Quaker faith when they had moved to Ohio. The Nehemiah Smith Family Bible lists his birth date of 23 Mar 1757 and Tamer's 17 Sept 1769. Nehemiah died 23 Feb 1835 either in Guernsey Co., OH or Morrow Co., OH. Children listed are: Thomas (1789), Sarah (1791-1793), John (1793), Joseph (1795), Cynthia (1798), Jesse (1801), Aaron and Moses (1803), William (1809), Elizabeth (1813). (Notation in the Bible that all these births are recorded in the Bucks Monthly Meeting)
