1871 - Mrs. Myrtle Cooper - 1947
Mrs. Myrtle Cooper, nee Myrtle Brown, the daughter of James and Pauline Brown, was born at Paynesville, Ohio, on November 3, 1871, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Math J. Noethe, in Sutherland on Wednesday, November 12, 1947 at the age of 76 years and 9 days.
Having come to this community at the age of eleven, she lived here for 65 years, attending the public schools and the Christian church.
On July 3, 1891, she was united in marriage to John Cooper, at Spencer, Iowa. To them were born six children, all of whom are left to survive her.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1932. Her six children are: Mrs. George Gray of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Eber Salzer of Hartley, Mrs. Math Noethe of Sutherland, Orlo Cooper of LeMars, Mrs. Marion Phillips of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., and Mrs. Jim Bomar of Cherokee. Also surviving her are her sister, Mrs. Daisy Chesley of Ventura, Calif., 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, besides numerous other relatives and the many friends she had in this community.
