DEATHS.
Maitland.— On the 6th May, at Brook Mooar, Union Mills aged 35 years. Fanny, wife of Dalrymple Maitland, M.H.K. - Interment this day (Saturday), arriving at Braddan Cemetery at 11 a.m. [Isle of Man Times - Saturday 09 May 1891, p.5]
The Late Mrs Dalrymple Maitland
General and sincere regret will be felt, not only in Douglas, but throughout the Island and elsewhere, at the announcement of the death of the wife of Mr Dalrymple Maitland. A few days ago. Mrs Maitland's condition became so serious that Dr. Lawson Tait, the eminent specialist of Birmingham, was sent for, and reaching Douglas on Monday, he gave his patient the closest attention. Mrs Maitland rallied under Dr. Tait's treatment, but, unhappily, a relapse set in on Wednesday, and she died in the course of the evening. Mrs Maitland was only about 35 years of age. Friends of the family will be aware that the funeral is to-day, and that those desirous of paying the last tribute to her memory should be at Braddan cemetery just before 11 o'clock. Mr Maitland is one of the directors of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, and all the steamers had their flags at half-mast up to this morning. [Isle of Man Times - Saturday 09 May 1891, p.4]
