Emma Fetsch

Emma Fetsch, age 97, went to meet our Lord in Heaven on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Just Like Home in Seymour.

She was born November 21, 1916 in Muenster. She married Leo Fetsch on April 10, 1939 and they resided on their farm located between Rhineland and Munday for the entire 65 years they were married.

For 35 years, Emma managed their insurance company which was located in their home while Leo continued the farming operations.

Leo passed away February 3, 2004. Emma lived independently on the farm until 2009.

Emma loved her church family. She was an accomplished musician and served 52 years as an organist for St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rhineland and Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Knox City. She taught music to many young people in the area.

In her retirement, Emma enjoyed quilting, walks on her country lane, and pilates. She volunteered weekly at the Knox County Hospital Auxiliary Pink Ladies.

Emma was a "people person" and a caring friend to many. She found joy in helping others. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, "west nana", and great-grandma.

Survivors include: one son, James and wife, Kathy of Shreveport, La.; two daughters, Lori Ware of San Diego, Calif., and LaVerne and husband, Bill Funderburk of Hamilton; one sister, Clara Stanley of Seminole; Grandchildren: Kendall and wife, Theresia Ware of Summerville, S.C., Kraig and wife, Lynn Ware of Williamsburg, Va., Kristi and husband, Andy Bailey of Shreveport, Brian Funderburk of Carrollton, Kyle Funderburk of Houston, and Clint and wife, Karri Funderburk of Kennedale. Great-grandchildren: Kendall Ware, Jr. of Dallas, Kristan Ware of Sumter, SC, Ashleigh Burn and Emma Lee Ware both of Summerville, Shelton, Ashton, and Easton Ware, all of Williamsburg, Amber and Andrea Fetsch, both of Shreveport.

Visitation was held Friday, May 9, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral Mass was Saturday, May 10, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial followed in St. Joseph's Cemetery under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home of Munday.
