On November 17, 1966 she was united in marriage to Floyd Franklin Self, who preceded her in death.
Peggy graduated from Smith Cotton in 1963. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier until her retirement. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Matthew Self (Melissa), of Grain Valley, MO, and Marcus Self (Devenia), of Blue Springs, MO; one daughter, Andrea Self, of Houstonia, MO; six grandchildren, Wesley, Brandon, Grant, Cordell, Lydia, and Truman; her mother, Pearl Bales of Sedalia; a sister, Bonnie Dotson of Sedalia; a brother, Bill Bales (Kay) of Dewey, OK.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Sam Bales; and a granddaughter, Mary Self.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Operation Christmas Child in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
