Pearl Lucille Bales, 99, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015, at University Hospital, in Columbia.

She was born on May 2, 1916, daughter of Lawrence and Bessie Turner Cannaday.

On August 17, 1935, in Rolla, she was married to Raymond Harold Bales, who preceded her in death on December 8, 1989.

Pearl worked at Town and Country shoes. She was a member of Emmett Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and making quilts.

She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Dotson, of Sedalia; a son, William “Bill” Bales, of Duley, OK; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Sam Bales; and a daughter, Peggy Self.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor John Barrett officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.

Pallbearers will be George Allen Dotson, Matthew Self, Marcus Self, Alex Bales, Harrison Ramsden and Zachary Barnes.

Family will receive friends from 1:30 until time of service, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial to the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.
