Peacefully, on Sunday, January 11, 2004, at St. Josephs Residence, Joseph Wazny, aged 97 years.

He was predeceased by his first wife Carrie in 1971; his sisters, Katie, Rose, Agnes and Francis and brothers, John, Peter and Andrew.

Joseph is survived by his wife Eva; son Bob (Joan), and Dennis (Vera) step daughter Joyce (Don Salie) grandchildren, Sherri Smith, Shannon and Kerri and step grandchildren, Henny and Blair Salie and their families; three great-grandchildren, Amanda, Jesse and Alex Smith; and sister Victoria Wazny.

Joseph was born in Melrose, MB, on December 12, 1906. He lived and farmed in the area until 1948, at which time he moved to Winnipeg, He worked at a number of different positions but spent the majority of his years working for Carters Auctions. Dad enjoyed gardening and bible studies.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Maples Nursing Home and St. Josephs Residence for the kind care given to dad. We would like to thank Shannon, Sherri and Henny for being there for their grandfather when we could not be there.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre.

Flowers are gratefully declined. If you so desire donations in Josephs memory may be made to a charity of choice.
