Patricia A. Bender, 74, of Landisville, went home to be with her lord after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by her loving children.
Born in Columbia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Betty (Rost) Garber.
She spent much of her life as a homemaker and in her spare time enjoyed crafts, reading, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by 5 children, Beth Anne Walters (wife of Tim), Bob Bender (husband of Wendy), Karen Hawthorne (wife of Bill), Donna Yohe, and Justin Tearney (husband of Megan); 3 sisters, Doris Kreiser (wife of Jim), Carolyn Flory (wife of Charles), Reba Elslager (wife of Gary), and 2 brothers, Richard Garber (husband of Bobbie) and Barry Garber (husband of Denise). Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Ironville United Methodist Church, 4020 Holly Dr., Columbia, PA 17512, on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 314 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603.
