Daughter of Dr. Gustavus Brown, and sister of Dr. Gustavus Richard Brown of Rose Hill, Port Tobacco, Maryland. Wife of Thomas Stone. Her dowry may have helped Thomas purchase Haberdeventure. She predeceased Stone by just four months. Margaret visited Thomas in Philadelphia, which was in the midst of a smallpox epidemic. She was inoculated for the disease, but an adverse reaction to the treatment made her ill. Her health continued to decline for the rest of her life.
