The wife of Claude de Lorraine, Duc de Guise, she is sometimes referred to as the "mère des Guises" (mother of the Guises). She married Claude de Lorraine in 1513 and gave birth to twelve children. Through her eldest daughter she was the grandmother of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scotland.

Gravesite Details

She was originally interred in the Collégiale Saint-Laurent in Joinville. During the French Revolution it was destroyed. The tombs were desecrated and in 1792 the ashes they contained were transported to this location.
