Mr. Calvin Wesley "Hoochee" Thomas, 86, of Waycross died Friday, September 17, 2021 at his residence after a brief illness.

He was born in Glynn County, Georgia to the late Calvin Matthew Thomas and Barbara Delores Banks Thomas ;; also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Thomas Furin.

Hoochee had made Waycross his home for the majority of his life. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
A master electrician, he worked for Georgia Power's Plant Hatch in Baxley for many years and also as an independent contractor. He was a proud member of the I.B.E.W., International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union #508 of Savannah, Georgia. In Waycross, he was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Elks Lodge. He was an avid hunter.

Left to carry on by his son, Calvin Wesley Thomas, Jr., of Waycross,
one brother, Ronald Thomas of Waycross,
and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m.
