Obituary of Maunee Wooten Maxwell
Mrs. Maunee Wooten Maxwell, age 93, of Rainsville passed away at her residence with her family at her side on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Her funeral service will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 at 2 P.M. in the W.T. Wilson Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Jason Wooten, Bro. Michael Clark and Bro. Tim Byrum officiating. Burial will follow in the Town Creek Cemetery in Rainsville, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, 5 – 8 P.M.
Granny, as she was affectionately called by many, is survived by her children, Lester Wooten (Lanita), Wanda Shoemaker (Robert), Ricky Wooten (Carolyn), Betty Hastings and Linda Otinger (Rayford); fifteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren and other unknown names of other great and great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was Preceded in death by her husbands, Wesley B. Wooten and Elbert A. Maxwell; parents, Joseph Summerford and Arizona Hamilton Summerford; son, Kenneth Wayne Wooten; grandsons, Donald Wade DeMarco and Tykie Labron Shoemaker; brothers, L.D., Paul, Charlie "Tont", Bufford, William, Hassel, Arther, Elbert, Oscar, J.W., Shelly; Sisters, Clevey, Wydean, Cradie, Ola, Madge, Vera, Beatrice, Annie and Lola.
Pall Bearers will be grandsons, Bobby Shoemaker, Carter Clark, Dusty Wooten, Scotty Shoemaker, Skylar Shoemaker, Jesse Wooten, Devin Wooten, Grayson Shoemaker.
Mrs. Maxwell's family would like to thank the many people and churches that have assisted with food, support and with so many other things. Also would like to thank Enhabit Hospice for their kindness and attentive care during Granny's final days and to the staff at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home for their kindness and professionalism.
