A German-Italian prince, natural son of the German Emperor and King of Sicily Frederic II. In 1239 created King of Sardinia. Engaged in many military advenures in Italy. Captured in 1249 at Fossalta battle, he spent the rest of his life as a prisoner in Bologna.
