Clergy. Born the illegitimate daughter of emperor Friedrich II by an unknown woman. Some sources speculate that it was Beatrix de Brienne, a relative of Friedrichs second wife Isabelle. There is not much known about Blanchefleur except that she was a nun at the Dominican monastery. A French inscription on her grave says who her father was and the day of her death. Above her grave is a painting of her with a palm tree and the double-headed eagle as symbol of her ancestry.
