Etta's Welsh-born father was a coal miner. On July 31, 1901 she married Julius W. McCullough, Jr. (1877-1949) of Huntington, Cabell Co., WV. The couple lived in Huntington, then moved to Zanesville, Muskingum Co., OH where Julius worked as a shop foreman for the Pennsylvania Railroad. No children were born to the union.

Death Summons Mrs. McCullough
Mrs. Rachel McCullough, 65, of the Davenport apartments, 60 1/2 South Third street, died at 6:45 o'clock Wednesday evening following ten years' illness of complications.
Mrs. McCullough was born in Meigs county and formerly resided in Huntington, W.Va., coming to Zanesville 16 years ago. She was a member of the Huntington Presbyterian church.
Surviving are her husband, Julius W. McCullough of the home; one sister, Mrs. A.H. Logan of Charleston, W.Va.; one half-brother, William Mathews of Parkersburg, W.Va., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Springhill cemetery chapel, Huntington, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with burial at Springhill cemetery. The body will remain at the Dean-Swope funeral home until time for removal to Huntington.
