Hazel D. Rigdon, age 84, of Alma passed away Monday, May 23rd at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native of Coffee County but had lived in Bacon County most of her life. Hazel was daughter of the late Levy Douglas and Lettie Taylor Douglas; a brother, Hubert Douglas, sister, Mozell Mercer and a son-in-law, Louis Baskin, Jr preceded her in death. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Southern Congregational Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Rev. J. M. Rigdon, son, Jimmy Carl Rigdon (Wanda), three daughters, Ann Scott (Billy), Janice Helms (Chris) of Alma and Jeannine Tanner (Dwayne) of Manor, Ga., two sisters, Lucille Jones of Lake City, FL and Mary Jo Hamilton of Brunswick, also eleven grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 26th at 11:00 AM at Wesley Chapel Southern Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Hayes, Rev. T. F. Yawn, Rev. Pet Hayes, Rev. Dwayne Tanner and Rev. Danny Turner officiating. The body will be carried to the church at 10:00 AM to lie in state. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening between 6 and 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Jason Rigdon, Kevin Scott, Levi Baskin, David Lee, Shawn Lee, Scott Carter, Chad Hill and Will Griffis. Honorary pallbearers will be; Ladies Sunday School Class, Health Dept. Home Care and Pam Lee.
