Doris J. Kreiser, 77, of Lancaster passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at her home. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth Rost Garber. She was the wife of James Kreiser, Sr., who absolutely adored her. They celebrated 61 happy years of marriage, and were very rarely seen without one another. After over 25 years at Lancaster General Hospital, Doris retired in 2002.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Deb (Stan) Stoltzfus of Lancaster, Jimmie (LouAnn) Kreiser of Lancaster, and Steve (Karen) Kreiser of Akron; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Reba Elslager and Carolyn Flory; and two brothers, Rick Garber and Barry Garber. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Bender.

Doris loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, playing games, and reading books- often two at a time. She played the piano and organ, and loved to listen to Elvis. Additionally, she enjoyed spoiling her family at Christmas time, creating elaborate games for family to get their gifts. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her dearly.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Ironville United Methodist Church, 4020 Holly Dr., Columbia, PA 17512. Viewing begins at 10:00 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am, interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Ironville United Methodist Church. Arrangements by the Clyde W.
